Programmable Room Thermostat |
New, easily used programmable room thermostat
launched by Horstmann Controls
Horstmann Controls has launched its all-new PRT1 programmable
room thermostat that is simple to set and adjust and is ideal
for use in environments such as social housing, housing associations
and sheltered accommodation.
The PRT1 features a simple user interface with large, easy-to-use
controls and can be pre-set with a range of temperature parameters
by the installer while still allowing for personal comfort
settings to be set by the user. One of its fail-safe features
is a minimum temperature setting to avoid hypothermia.
Available in either mains or battery powered versions, the
PRT1 features a range of standard living pattern modes, which
are selected by the installer or property owner, dependent
on the characteristics of the building and the lifestyle of
the occupants. These permit a high level of control over energy
usage and prevent abuse of the heating system temperature
control.
From the user viewpoint the simple plus and minus switches
alter the temperature up or down. Red lights indicate the
selected temperature band and a blue light indicates when
the programmer is at its cool setting.
Commenting on the new introduction, Horstmann Controls domestic
products sales manager Tim Acton says; "the PRT1 has been
developed as a specific response to users in these key housing
sectors where ease of use and operation is all important.
It provides important fail-safe features for the user while
offering the facility to fine-tune comfort levels within the
range of pre-set parameters."
Additional features such as automatic clock setting and the
facility to turn the heating off completely in the summer
months add to the PRT1's functionality.
The new room thermostat will be available from January 2005,
in time for assessment and purchasing during the crucial early
spring budgeting and purchasing period in the local government/local
authority sector.
