Frequently Asked Questions

Horstmann programmers are NOT user serviceable. Please do not dismantle any part of any unit. In the unlikely event of a fault developing please refer to the RESETTING THE PROGRAMMER section of your user guide. If this fails to resolve the problem please contact a local heating engineer or a qualified electrician.

Q. How do I change from Summer time (BST) to Winter (GMT) time , or vice versa, on my heating control?
A. Click here to view a brief description of how to alter the time setting on most Horstmann products, full details are given in the user guide which can be down loaded from the relevant product section.

Q. My programmers display has become frozen or is scrambled, how do I reset?

A.Please refer to the ‘Reset Procedure’ section of the user guide.

Q. There is no display on the programmer.
A.Try the RESET procedure detailed in your userguide, if this fails to rectify the problem please have the mains supply checked.

Q. I have no hot water from my immersion tank, but the red light does illuminate on the control during the off-peak charging times?
A.Please consult a qualified electrician or heating engineer, the most likely explanation is a failure of an immersion element in the hot water cylinder.
